Abstract

Machine press drawing is a hydraulic press machine that is useful as a place for dies piercing compression to punch sheet plates. One of the components that affects the production process of plate punching is the dies cutter. When a visual inspection is carried out and it is found that damage has occurred on the dies cutter with the occurrence of lumps and dullness on the dies cutter which results in Not Good (NG) cutting results. Therefore, the purpose of this writing is to determine the cause of damage to the dies cutter and provide a solution so that the same damage does not recur. This analysis is based on the reference used, namely root cause analysis, with the method used being fishbone diagram. After analysis, it was found that the cause of the damage was due to production operators not following existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and existing maintenance schedules were not carried out properly.
