TRANSLATION SHIFT AND TRANSLATION TECHNIQUE IN ENGLISH TO INDONESIAN SUBTITLE OF ARCHON QUEST 4.2 ACT V OF GAME: GENSHIN IMPACT

This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to provide a systematic and accurate description of the shifts that occur in noun phrases of the subtitle of the Archon Quest Fontaine Act V subtitle, which is available in the game Genshin Impact, along with translation techniques. The data collection techniques used were content analysis and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). In this study, 102 data were collected. This study only focuses on category shifts, in three of the four category shifts found in this research, the dominant shifts found were structure shifts 72.54%, unit shifts 21.58%, and intra-system shifts 5.88%. There are nine out of twelve translation techniques discovered; the literal translation at 30,39%, the borrowing translation at 23.52%, the discursive creation technique at 20.58%, the established equivalent technique at 9.80%, the reduction technique at 7.84%, the description technique at 3.92%, the adaptation technique 1.96%, and the modulation technique 0.98%. The linguistic amplification was found in one (1) out of 102 data, accounting for 0.98%.
