Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine how Islamic work ethics and work-life balance partially and simultaneously impact the performance of Gen Z employees in the DKI Jakarta region. The method of purposive sampling was used to gather the sample. Research data were collected by distributing questionnaires to one hundred respondents. This study is a qualitative research that has been quantified and conducted using the statistical program SPSS version 25. The results of the research, using multiple linear regression, indicate that work-life balance and Islamic work ethics have a positive and significant partial influence on the performance of Gen Z employees in the DKI Jakarta region. Furthermore, both work-life balance and Islamic work ethics have a positive and significant simultaneous influence on the performance of Gen Z employees in the DKI Jakarta region. The independent or predictor variables, work-life balance, and Islamic work ethics, together affect 63.5% of the dependent variable, which is the performance of Gen Z employees in the DKI Jakarta region. This shows that the factors examined in this research have a significant influence on the performance of Gen Z employees. However, there is also 36.5% of other variables not examined by the author that could also affect the performance of Gen Z employees. These other variables could be factors that were not considered in the research, such as the level of education, work experience, emotional intelligence, organizational support, and so on.
